The Assam Upper Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has put e-books online for upper secondary students. Now, candidates who are in their final year of Assam Higher Secondary can use these electronic textbooks for exams. Direct links are available on the official website of the Council, ahsec.nic.in.

On Monday, May 17, 2021, the Council announced that the Assam State Government will provide free textbooks to students of the final year of upper secondary school in Assam. As this can take a long time, the Assam Upper Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) decided to download the electronic subject textbooks instead of distributing them. From now on, students in the 2nd year HS class can start continuing the next session with reference to these textbooks.

At present, the council has posted electronic textbooks on a few topics, namely Physics Part 1, Chemistry, Mathematics Part 1, Swadesh Adhyayan, Flamingo, Samasamayik Biswa Rajniti XII Assamese, Samasamayik Biswa Rajniti XII Bengali, Sahitya Saurov, Bangla Sahitya Chayanika, Byabashya Adhyayan Assamese, Byastibadi Arthabijnan Parichay Assamese, Byastikendrik Arthabijnan Parichay Bengali, Hisap Sashtra Pt I Assamese and Sadhinattar Bharatar Rajniti.

Interested applicants can download the Assam HS final year e-books from ahsec.nic.in. On arriving at the website, click on the “ebooks” button which will be available on the left side of the home screen. Right after the contestants click on it, the Assam HS Second Year ebooks appear on the screen. Aspirants should click on the topic to download the manuals individually.

As per the official announcement, all final year upper secondary students who completed the exam form for the final year HS exam have been declared promoted. These applicants can now start classes in the 2nd year HS class for the 2021-2022 session which was scheduled from May 15, 2021. Classes will take place online as educational institutions will remain closed due to COVID-19 and government SOPs. The announcement called for the head of institutions to interact with all teachers and students to run the online classes smoothly. The Council has asked teachers and those responsible for the relevant subjects to do what is necessary by providing what is required for the online courses.

In addition, the Assam State Government has also forwarded a proposal that candidates taking the Higher School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) / Assam High Madarsa and Higher Secondary (HS) final exam will only need to pass 03 tests for the final exam. Previously, students had to take final exams where questions were asked about 06 different subjects. However, the number is now reduced to three due to the COVID-19 situation.
